As the Italian Enclaves Historical Society approaches its 5th year in existence, we have been fortunate to have some excellent board members who have helped effectuate our mission. Although not all of these people continue to serve, we are nonetheless grateful for their contributions, however large or small, to our volunteer-based organization. At the end of 2025 we were fortunate to add two new members to our board: Antonio Cesare and Jack Rizzo.
Mr. Cesare contributes his passion for community outreach and charitable endeavors, and will help lead independent and joint ventures to leverage the society to impact the overall community by coordinating fundraising for food and clothing drives. Jack Rizzo is a leader in the Italian American community who, along with his family, coordinate the East Harlem Giglio Mass and “Dance of the Giglio” in East Harlem each year. Mr. Rizzo has been instrumental in growing the feasts of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Saint Anthony in East Harlem in what has become a resurgence of attendance to these devotions in East Harlem after seeing decades of declining attendance. Antonio and Jack both grew up in Italian neighborhoods and have a passion for preserving the Italian heritage.
We are grateful for our former volunteer board members and for all those that have contributed to the Italian Enclaves Historical Society’s mission since our inception and we are welcoming and appreciative of those who continue to contribute to our mission whether by being members, providing historical content, or just sharing our mission to the wider community.
