Mott Haven

Mott Haven- The community of Italian Americans in Mott Haven was centered around St. Rita of Cascia church. In the earlier part of the 20^th century all the way through the mid 20^th century, this neighborhood has changed with the proliferation of affordable housing. The area which comprised the neighborhood has seen public housing replace the original housing stock of this area which has completely changed the demographics of the area.
