Pelham Parkway

Pelham Parkway is a working and middle class neighborhood bordered by Van Neck, Morris Park, the Bronx Zoo, and Bronx and Pelham Parkway road.  Like other neighborhoods in the Bronx, most of the Italian immigrants made their way in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Churches like St. Theresa’s Church and Our Lady of Solace Church in bordering neighborhoods were important for fostering Italian culture in the area, hosting events, celebrations, and language and educational services and programs, making it a focal point for the Italian community.  A notable Italian eatery in Pelham Parkway is John and Joe’s Pizzeria and Restaurant.
