Wakefield

Wakefield is the northernmost neighborhood in New York City and borders Westchester County. The neighborhood is home to the Italian National Parish of Our Lady of Grace, which was founded in 1924. The Italian Americans who moved here did so after WW2 and wound up slowly moving out in the 1970’s and 1980’s. They were replaced by people from the Caribbean, mostly Jamaica, much like Canarsie in Brooklyn.
