Canarsie

Canarsie is bound by Fresh Creek and East 108th Street on the east, on the north by Linden Boulevard, Ralph Avenue on the West, Paerdegat Basin on the southwest and on the south by Jamaica Bay. Canarsie was developed as a largely Italian American and Jewish suburb, and the Italians began to leave the area in the 1980’s.. Our Lady of Miracles RC Church and St. Jude RC Church are some of the catholic churches found in Canarsie, The Italian National Parish in Canarsie is Our Lady Of Miracles. Canarsie also holds the annual Italian festival; The Giglio Feast.
