Sheepshead Bay

Sheepshead Bay was home to many Italian Americans. There were, and still are, many Italian-owned businesses, especially along Emmons Avenue. Sheepshead Bay borders Homecrest, Midwood, Brighten Beach, and Gerritsen Beach. Sheepshead Bay had a very large Jewish population as well but there were scattered pockets of Italians all over Sheepshead Bay from the 1940’s and some still remain, but not many. Noteworthy Italian establishments in Sheepshead Bay are Randazzo’s Clam Bar and Clemente’s Crab House.Sheepshead Bay is a neighborhood in southern Brooklyn, New York City. It is bounded by Ocean Parkway to the west; Avenue T and Kings Highway to the north; Nostrand Avenue and Gerritsen Avenue to the east; and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.
