Throggs Neck
The gateway from Long Island to the Bronx, Throgs Neck is bordered by Pelham Bay, the East River, and Country Club. Italian immigrants started to make their way into Throgs Neck as the Bronx started to become more part of Greater New York, with the extension of transit lines into the area in 1898. Most of these Italian immigrants were farmers and merchants. Some noteworthy Italian establishments include Tosca Cafe and Patricia’s of Tremont.
