Dyker Heights
Nestled between Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and Borough Park, is Dyker Heights. This neighborhood sits from 86th Street and 7th Avenue to 65th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway, and 65th Street and 15th Avenue and 86th Street and 15thAvenue. Dyker Heights has been an Italian enclave since the earlier 1900’s. This is the neighborhood that is known for their Christmas lights each year when generous families from the neighborhood go above and beyond with the most spectacular private Christmas light shows on their own doorsteps anywhere in the country. Dyker Heights is known for its being the home of La Bella Marketplace, one of the largest purveyors of fine Italian products in the United States. Dyker Heights is also home to many other businesses and shops along 13th Avenue such as Tasty Pastry Pasticceria. Saint Bernadette is the Italian National Parish on one side of Dyker Heights but on the other side is the Basilica of Regina Pacis, which is the second largest Italian National Parish in the country next to Saint Lucy’s in Newark.
