Fairmont

Northern West Virginia, in particular Fairmont, had a large number of immigrants, especially from Calabria, which were drawn to the area with the abundant opportunities for work which were offered. The local populace still enjoy Italian traditions, with the annual Feast of the Seven Fishes which is celebrated in downtown Fairmont nearing two decades old. Some notable Italian-Americans of the area are Tony Adamie, a former NFL player, along with Joe Cerisano, a well known singer and songwriter.
